Conquering the kaka

A review of "Biological Invasions of New Zealand", part of the series Ecological Studies.

Just when the kiwis assumed they were finally safe in their little pseudo-British antipode haven, the brown trout shows up in their rivers, followed by an assortment of possums and weeds. Yes, NZ is under siege by annoying animals that won't take a kaka for an answer, and probably never heard of the Waitangi agreement. And no, ANZAC can't stop them either. Seriously, though, this book is an immensely boring, technical-scientific work suitable for biologists only.
