Ny runda moralpanik och vuxenmobbning mot Pourmokhtari. Och jag tror mig som bekant ha löst gåtan: det handlar givetvis om projicering. 

För vad har den privilegierade ädelsvenska medelklassen (inklusive dess progressivare flyglar) egentligen gjort för att klimatanpassa sig? Givetvis just ingenting alls. Och de tänker inte göra något i framtiden heller. De vill behålla sin privilegierade lifestyle. För vem vill inte det? 

Det är därför de blir så förbannade på Pourmokhtari: hon agerar nämligen helt öppet som den vakna medelklassen gör i smyg. Alltså ljuger och förvränger á la Bagdad Bob för att på så sätt slippa klimatanpassa. Hon är deras exakta spegelbild. Och ingen syndare vill se sig själv i spegeln.

Det är där skon klämmer.

Dessutom har ju Greta Thunberg försvunnit från det omedelbara rampljuset. Hon som tidigare fungerade som ett slags syndoffer för den pseudo-gröna medelklassen. Istället har de fått ett slags anti-Greta på halsen. En anti-Greta som givetvis inte ger dem retorisk och psykologisk absolution. 

Att Pourmokhtari dessutom är invandrarkvinna med "fel" politiska åsikter gör det hela ännu mer spicy...

Ganska anmärkningsvärda siffror i nya Ungdomsbarometern. Har inte hunnit läsa den, men se artiklarna nedan! 

2019 betraktade sig 32% av ungdomarna som antirasister, 2021 var siffran 28% och 2023 var siffran nere på 17%. Antalet miljövänner har också minskat kraftigt: från 25% år 2019, till 20% är 2021 och 14% år 2023. Det betyder i klartext att hela klimatkampanjen har misslyckats. Även antalet feminister har minskat, men inte lika dramatiskt: från 30% i de två tidigare undersökningarna till 23% idag. 

Alternativet för många verkar vara hedonism och individualism, snarare än kollektivistisk högernationalism eller religion. 

Nästa undersökning kan ju bli intressant på dessa punkter...

Imagine a conference against slavery headed by Jefferson Davies in Richmond. Or a conference on human rights in Pyongyang, North Korea. Kinda hard, right?

Well, the ongoing UN summit on how to fight climate change is held in Dubai and chaired by the literal CEO of the United Arab Emirates´ oil company! What´s more, he actually *opposes* the Green transition and even said so. Meanwhile, UAE´s neighbour Saudi Arabia says pretty much the same thing. What´s strange isn´t that oil-producing countries oppose transitioning out of oil (of course they do), but that they have been put in charge of an international conference on how to supposedly, well, transition out of oil...

In not unrelated news, the climate summit has apparently also adopted a statement in favor of nuclear power.

I can´t help thinking that this actually means something, not just symbolically or archetypally, but "for real". Maybe the transition really is cancelled, and everyone is just going through the motions at this point.

That in turn could explain why the flagship of the climate change movement, Greta Thunberg´s Fridays for Future, has pivoted towards anti-Israeli activism and doubled down on it, despite harsh condemnations and a threatened split with the German section of the movement. Perhaps the "Green" capitalists and state bureaucrats are in retreat, so their street and college campus minions need a new outlet for their activism. Meanwhile, that other flagship, Extinction Rebellion, is getting increasingly more desperate, obviously because nobody cares anymore.

If I´m right, we will see new pivots from both the powers-that-be and the activists in the years to come, all the while climate change continues its usual course...

Nästan lite fascinerande hur klimatrörelsen så konsekvent imploderar politiskt. Den kommer för all framtid att förknippas med "anti-sionism" och stöd till Hamas. Fast det kanske är det den vill? Det är nämligen ganska uppenbart att ingen egentligen bryr sig om klimatfrågan längre, och då är det väl smartare för aktivisterna att dra vidare till en fråga som åtminstone är populär inom tokvänstern. 

Noterar annars att de hade bättre rådgivare den här gången. Jag menar, de lyckas fördöma Hamas´ attacker hela tre gånger i debattartikeln. Första försöket var det väl bara en halv gång ungefär...

Decoding Generation Greta

 

Edward Dutton discusses climate activism in this four year old clip. He does make some interesting points, for instance that the really existing climate change movement resembles a puritanical sect or cult, and could be seen as a secularized form of Christianity. Its social base is heavily middle class, and that´s not a co-incidence according to Dutton, since middle class people often compete for status by pretending to be more "moral" than both the upper and working classes. The subcultural character of the climate activist milieu can thus be seen as a status marker. Outsiders just find it baffling and cultish. Especially when movements of this sort constantly becomes more and more "purist", for instance by demanding veganism rather than regular vegetarianism. 

And speaking of cultishness, Dutton believes that the fanaticism of the climate activists is quite deliberate. They *want* to trigger the opponents into a frenzy and hence increase polarization in society. This both "flushes out the traitors" and serves as a boundary marker, thus increasing their in-group solidarity. So does the inevitable out-group hostility. In other words, the activists aren´t simply misguided or untactical when they block roads or stop trains, no, this is very much part of the point of their activism! Perhaps it can´t be otherwise.

While many people would probably agree thus far, Dutton also connects all of the above with his "spiteful mutant theory", according to which a large portion of the middle class are "mutants" prone to maladaptive behavior which is ultimately irrational and bad for society. The reason why the working class and ethnic minorities usually don´t care about protest movements of this kind, is that they are (generally) less mutated. Thus, we are dealing with a conflict within the White population, or even the White middle class, between "mutants" and "normies".  

In passing, Dutton mentions Greta Thunberg. He finds it highly significant that this leading figure in the climate protests is a "child", female, autistic and somewhat "exotic" (Swedes being exotics globally speaking, according to Dutton´s analysis). Greta thus symbolizes everything that is off about this movement (she is also well-educated and relatively privileged). There is also a pseudo-Christian aspect. Dutton mentions "from the mouth of babes". In Sweden, a Church of Sweden Twitter account (supposedly tongue-in-cheek) claimed that Jesus had appointed Greta one of his successors, and a Church of Sweden magazine compared her to a prophet! The Devil, it seems, knows his own...

It´s pretty obvious that the above analysis can be easily extended to the SJW-Woke phenomenon as a whole. Defending gays isn´t enough anymore, it has to be trans. And the trans-people don´t even have to transition, so a bearded man with a penis can just declare himself a woman. Defending abortion of unviable fetuses isn´t enough either, now it has to be killing of viable babies. Next in line? Probably euthanasia for teens, paedophilia, or whatever. 

The often bizarre antics of the Woke can also be explained by the above analysis. For instance, the recent tearing down of posters of the Israeli hostages held by Hamas. Yes, it´s a deliberate provocation.

Of course, if Dutton is right, then there is no rational argument to be had with the climate change activists (or the Woke in general). "Mutants" can only be restrained. Perhaps by force? Indeed, the jolly prof does seem to draw that conclusion at the end of his presentation. 

There is, of course, just one problem with all of the above: what if the climate crisis is real? Or, to put it in Duttonian terms, what if "Uncle Ted" was right? (For some reason, Dutton always refers to the Unabomber Ted Kaczynski as Uncle Ted!) 

What is the normie solution to our climate predicament?

 

"No climate justice on occupied land"

 

The latest slogan of the climate protest movement seems to be "No climate justice on occupied land". Well, most of the Middle East is "unoccupied land" (by Jews, right?) and there seems to be precious little climate justice in, say, Sudan, Saudi Arabia or Iran. 

But whatever. More important is that the climate activists are doubling down on their support for "Gaza", which surely shows that the anti-climate change movement is rapidly losing its political momentum and relevance. Hence, the sharp turn towards "the current thing" among leftists and leftoids, which (surprise) happens to be "Gaza" (rather than, say, replacing European coal plants with nuclear power, protesting Chinese state capitalism or what have you).

If I´m right (and I always am, as you know), society will transition out of the Green transition during the years ahead, and rather than protesting against *this*, the leftists and leftoids will simply go back to pre-climate change/pre-COVID agendas. Environmentalism will once again become more "niche". 

Maybe that´s actually for the best.

Fridays for Future verkar vara väldigt nära att splittras så att säga "officiellt". Notera länken från 2021, då FFF också skakades av interna motsättningar relaterade till terrorattacker från Hamas´ sida mot Israel. Men då försökte Greta förhålla sig neutral. Nu? Inte riktigt, verkar det som...

Min tolkning är att klimatrörelsen blev irrelevant redan år 2020, överspelad av BLM men också negativt påverkad av lockdowns under pandemin. Sedan dess har den försökt "bredda sin appell" genom att driva de frågor allmänvänstern uppfattar som viktigast för stunden. Greta tog ställning för vaccinet, FFF i Tyskland utlovade protester mot "fascistiska" anti-vaxxare, och när Ryssland attackerade Ukraina strejkade Greta för de senare. 

Av detta kan man alltså dra slutsatsen att allmänvänstern är anti-israelisk och dessutom blivit så tondöv att man inte verkar förstå/bry sig om att man ofta låter pro-Hamas. Eller så är man det faktiskt. 

Och *givetvis* är det Israel-Palestina som till slut splittrar ännu en social rörelse. Det är alltid Israel-Palestina. Inte, säg, Gretas uttalanden om kärnkraften! 

Extinction Rebellions alltmer "militanta" aktioner är troligen också ett svaghetstecken. Ingen bryr sig om XR längre, och att förstöra konst, ambulansutryckningar eller Mello blir då enda sättet att väcka uppmärksamhet.

Greta Thunberg = Agent of Gaddafi? I assumed Greta belonged to the "moderate" wing of the climate activist movement, the wing that wanted to keep out of the Israel-Palestine conflict as much as possible. But it seems she changed her mind somewhat...

Greta has always been a good weather-vane showing in which direction the broad left is marching, so this signalling is...interesting. Has she *ever* had any independent thought at all? It will be interesting to see if she and Fridays for Future will backtrack from this, or not.  

I have to say that the aftermath of the Hamas pogrom has been very, very revealing indeed. Rubicon!

Det verkar som att "Generation Greta" trots allt existerar utanför kultursidorna. Närmare bestämt bland unga kvinnor, som i stor utsträckning fortfarande stödjer S, C och V. Men, intressant nog, inte MP!
