Some "based" takes on class, ethnicity and intelligence c/o Edward Dutton. You probably know the drift already. Dutton is reacting to a recent British documentary about the plight of the "White working class", arguing that it´s really the underclass that´s being depicted. He also notes that the docu defines "White working class" as an "ethnic group"!
OK, *that´s* a new one. Either somebody made a silly mistake, or the people behind the documentary assume (perhaps correctly?) that nobody will care about poor Whites in Woke UK, unless these are re-defined as another ethnic minority worthy of our special consideration, alongside Muslims, Blacks, or what have you.
Dutton points out the irony that this was once a super-reactionary position. During the Victorian era, the British elites wondered aloud whether the workers really were British / English, or a completely different (unknown) ethnicity altogether! That, of course, was a form of racism, not progressive politics...
Another interesting question is whether this is some kind of paradigm shift, a trial balloon, or just some stray TV program of little importance.
"Gender reassignment" doesn´t work. In a majority of cases, it doesn´t cure the depressions of the people with gender dysphoria. If anything, it tends to make the situation even worse! This according to a Finnish study of over 2,000 people who have undergone "gender-affirming surgery". As in everyone in Finland who have done so.
I´m not surprised, to be honest. Now nobody can say that they didn´t know.
This is *not* the Finnish entry to the Eurovision Song Contest. In fact, it´s not an ESC song at all, but a new version of a classical Euro-disco hit from Moldova. Note the marching Russian (?) female cadets?!
Donald, plz don´t start any new wars over this song, plz plz plz. LOL.
OK, this was funny. But I won´t link. Uncle Eddie (alias Professor Edward Dutton) just joked that Trump attacked Iran in a fit of anger after watching the Finnish Eurovision qualifying contest. Since the wrong song won.
And no, the Mideast situation isn´t funny at all. But I couldn´t help laughing, since I of course watch the *Swedish* Eurovision qualifying contest. And since the wrong entry always wins, I could start about 50 world wars on that basis alone...
Based right-winger Edward Dutton is interesting when he says really controversial things neither the left nor the right will likely agree with (although I suppose right-wingers will agree with his negative take on immigration later in the video). Sorry chaps, neither the Labourite "welfare state" nor Tory "family values" will help get the crime levels down, not even in a ethnically homogenous population...since everyone is getting more and more stupid anyway! Ever since 1900, if I understand Uncle Eddie correctly.
Edward Dutton attacks a recent study which claims that intelligence is "only" 30% heritable. Eddie believes that it´s rather 80% and then it´s on! Apparently, this is a thing at X right now. Hardly the hang-out of the cognitive elite, but I´m digressing...
Listen carefully to ultra-conservative Edward Dutton here. He is (in effect) calling for socialism for the high IQ people! Hard hitting, surely. But yes, it´s an interesting video...
I don´t doubt that this is true, but...a case *could* be made that Trump was indeed inciting the crowds on January 6, 2021. I mean, dude! Why the BBC nevertheless feels the need to crudely manipulate footage from the occasion is, of course, an interesting question...
I think it´s safe to say that Edward Dutton is very right-wing. Substantially more right-wing than Nigel Farage´s Reform UK. Or "based", as the saying goes. And we don´t expect such people to believe in "all women". Especially not women like Virginia Giuffre.
But...
Around the timestamps 31:00 - 49.00, there is a (confused and rambling) discussion between Dutton and a number of other far right sympatizers (one of them, strangely enough, a Black Jamaican). I didn´t listen pass the latter timestamp, but they seem to be changing subjects.
The general tenor of the discussion is that while Giuffre´s posthumously published book is often hard to believe, there could be rational reasons even for her mistakes or confabulations. Perhaps she was abused and has suffered severe memory loss. The effect of trauma on memory is explicitly said to be another thing than crazy "therapists" planting false memories. As for Dutton, he points out that establishment abusers quite deliberately groom women who are underclass, confused and in need of money. They can be easily manipulated. And hence also easily abused.
Well, exactly. People who claim to have been raped by the Devil may be mentally ill, but why did they become mentally ill in the first place?
I do realize that the sudden conversion of the far right to "believe all women" may have something to do with the Epstein affair, but it´s still intriguing to hear these arguments from people who often take the patriarchalist position. Meanwhile, Skeptics are usually centrist liberals and just as often attack survivors of sexual abuse. But now, *they* presumably must believe Giuffre since Epstein is seen as a Trump ally after the latter´s crash out. (Epstein skeptic Michael Tracey seems to be an exception.)
Another thing. It´s interesting to compare the reactions of various individuals to Giuffre´s allegations. Prominent lawyer and pundit Alan Dershowitz fought her in court and eventually obtained an admission that Giuffre may have been mistaken identifying him as a serial rapist. But prince Andrew - who I assume has even more money than Dershowitz - has just quietly disappeared into the night, and de facto been expelled from the British royal court! He even paid a large sum of money to Giuffre to settle a civil law suit in the States.
While none of the above conclusively proves anything, it *could* suggest that Dershowitz really was innocent, while Andrew was guilty.
I mean, it´s almost as if the world is complicated or something...
So Edward Dutton believes that histrionic Woke women are infected by a parasitic disease spread by cats.
It struck me that the same analysis could be applied to histrionic conservative women who believe in the "Biblical" Rapture. Ever noticed how many of them *worry about their cats* in the event of apocalypse?
And no, I´m not saying this is true. My point is that what´s sauce for the goose, surely works just fine for the gander. Not to mention the old tom!
Edward Dutton has stopped donning a false beard lately, but his speculations are still as "far out" as usual. Here, he claims that Woke women have a parasitical disease known as toxoplasmosis, the vector of which is...cats. Apparently, half of all domestic cats world-wide are infected with this disease.
He also speculates that the witches of yore may have been infected by the same parasite, which is why the cat has always been the symbol of evil. It also explains the stereotype of the "cat lady".
A lot of push back in the commentary section from right-wing cat owners...
This isn´t rocket science, LOL. Maybe next week, Eddie can tell us why there are also male Jewish, Black, Asian and homosexual Alt Right influencers...
An interesting video c/o Edward Dutton about the recent riots in Northern Ireland. From a "pro-Unionist" perspective, since you want to know. The short story is that Gypsies from the Balkans have settled deep inside a staunchly Loyalist area. You do the math...
