Some remarkable statements by Trump in this Fourth of July address. What if the next assassination attempt will be carried out by a disgruntled "serious radical right" person? Weird times ahead... 

The beginning of the end?

 

Results from the GOP Iowa caucuses are in. With 95% of the votes counted, a certain Donald J Trump has finally left his Elba exile with 51% of the votes. DeSantis is second, Haley a close third behind DeSantis. Trump won in all counties except one, where Haley (barely) carried the day. I´m frankly surprised that The Don didn´t get even more votes! In a sense he did, since the 8% who voted for Vivek Ramaswamy are presumably also Trump supporters. 

Wat means? In and of itself, nothing at all. However, I think it´s obvious how this is going to end. Trump will win the GOP primaries overall. If he will also be nominated or elected POTUS, remains to be seen.

It´s not impossible, obviously. But neither is a constitutional crisis. Or assassination...

The cold spell in Iowa is apparently a thing. Several GOP candidates had to cancel campaign events (Vivek´s car even got stuck in the snow), while the Dems seem to have effectively cancelled their caucases altogether. Maybe it´s symbolic somehow that the 2024 elections start off with a mini-Ice Age...

Russians in Iowa

Wow, I didn´t know the Russians were this efficient. Now, they have fucked up *all* 1,700 caucuses in Iowa, the evangelical corn field state in Middle Murica. Or has The Donald re-employed Steven Bannon in secret? Everyone knows that Bannon is really a cross between Cyberdyne Systems and the Mandalorian.

If the Dems can´t even fake a primary "election" based on caucuses, how the hell are they going to win against The Man Who Trolled The World in the real presidentials? Sheeesh... 

End the charade already, DNC should simply declare a winner and skip the primaries completely. If they want to go down fightin´, select Bernie. If they want to go down a bit more respectably, select Bloomberg.
