The Blavatsky Lodge

"Theosophical Outlook" describes itself as a weekly magazine devoted to the Theosophical movement, the brotherhood of humanity, the study of occult science, and Aryan literature. Amazon has listed it as published by the Theosophical Society in America (i.e. the US branch of Besant's and Leadbeater's Adyar society).

However, this seems to be incorrect. There are no indications in the actual magazine that it's subordinated to the Adyarites, or any other established branch of the Theosophical movement. The publisher is listed as "Blavatsky Lodge of Theosophists" and an unspecified "Theosophical Society". My guess is that we're dealing with a split from the United Lodge of Theosophists, itself a split from Tingley's Theosophical group based at Point Loma.

Otherwise, I must say that "Theosophical Outlook" is a pretty uninteresting potpourri of short articles often excerpted from other publications, dealing with Theosophy only in a very broad sense. But yes, the mysterious editor has began to quote Blavatsky more profusely again, after a hiatus of sorts in volume 3...

Not sure how to rate this product, with reprints of a publication from 1919.
Three stars, but with a boredom warning?
