So I recently commented Rudolf Steiner´s strange idea that the Buddha went to Mars, et cetera. Purely by chance (?), this popped up in my YouTube feed. "Mars vs Pure Land. Why migrating to the Pure Land is much better than Mars". Elon Musk, are you listening?

Don´t worry, I have no intention of journeying to the red planet anytime soon. However, the Buddhist nun in the clip may be wrong about one thing. She says that the living conditions on Earth are much better than on Mars.

Terraforming Earth

 

Are data centers controlled by an alien or interdimensional race, which is "terraforming" Earth to take it over? This race came through a portal when Jack Parsons and L Ron Hubbard did their infamous Babalon working. Parsons´ wife Marjorie Cameron may have been one of the space aliens. They are a silicon-based life form (like computer chips) and can´t stand carbon (and therefore secretely control climate activism). Most humans will be replaced by these creatures, but the "tech bro" elite have been promised Mars and will soon leave our planet in a "Noah´s ark". 

Or so Thomas Sheridan speculates. The full presentation is only available for paying channel members, but I think I got the gist of it. 

I don´t doubt that some elite groups may believe in *very* crazy things, but that doesn´t mean they are right, or that they can act on their beliefs. I mean, what are the chances that Peter Thiel & Co can build a space ark and leave orbit? This is just a form of quasi-political superstition, in which the upper class is cast in the role of "gods" (albeit evil ones). 

But sure, I suppose it would be ironic if our overlords are ultimately overthrown by ignorant peasants who actually think they are fighting interdimensional aliens...

Not sure what to think of this. Optimization strikes me as both necessary and inevitable. But sure, why do customers just accept it, instead of demanding some extra features for reasons of current fashion or personal image? I suppose that *is* an interesting question. Edward Dutton would probably say it´s because of lower average IQ rates in society...

I have to say that "poly-crisis of late capitalism" was a very original soundbite, though!

Oh, and another thing. Surely "unbearable blandness" isn´t the main feature of the 2020´s...

Rococo Basilisk

 

Roko´s basilisk is a silly thought experiment which apparently mind-fucked members of the "Rationalist" on-line community. I don´t know who they are and little motivation finding out. Some kind of autistic tech nerds spinning the usual blend of libertarianism, transhumanism, NRx and other quite irrational bunk? 

Roko´s basilisk is obviously inspired by an idea found in certain forms of Christianity. If you never heard the Gospel, you will be saved since not hearing the message wasn´t your fault. However, if you *have* heard the Gospel and reject it, you will go to Hell. In other words, hearing the Gospel might actually *endager* your soul - a rather absurd and paradoxical situation (which logically should make Christians stop all their missionary activity). Roko´s basilisk is *exactly* the same idea but with God replaced by an intelligent machine. Another confirmation that certain atheists are simply constructing a simulacrum of Christianity or theism-in-general. The bizarre ideas about retro-causation are presumably inspired by God´s omnipotence and the fact that He stands outside of Time itself, which perhaps leads to various paradoxes.  

And then there are the Zizians...

The Zizians are supposedly an off-shoot of the Rationalist subculture, although it´s difficult to see any obvious connection. They are allegedly a cult preying on vulnerable trans-people, and may be responsible for at least four murders. Apparently, the Zizians claim they can save people from Roko´s basilisk?! 

Oookay...

I admit that I completely missed this particular cult/cultic milieu. But yes, I´ve heard of Roko´s basilisk before. Of course, I´m not terribly impressed by these Silicon Valley-adjacent counter-cultures. Still, it´s interesting that some of the biggest pro-AI crazies may be busy actually developing, well, AI. Which makes the entire basilisk scenario a kind of strange self-fulfilling prophecy. Until the real God (or just lack of good ol´ electricity) puts an end to this silliness once and for all!

This could be click bait or trolling, but this content-creator at least seemingly claims that Elon Musk´s Starlink has discovered the infamous "Ice Wall" in the Antarctica. That is, Elon confirmed that the Earth is flat?!

???!!! Scott Carney believes that the Trump campaign stole the 2024 POTUS elections by manipulating the computer software. Some of the counties reporting election results *don´t even exist*. Yes: phantom counties?! 

Of course, Trump supporters believe that the large number of (very real) "bellwether counties" switching to Biden in 2020 proves *those* elections were rigged.

It sounds as if Loeb is pivoting away from his most sensational claims about 3I/ATLAS, even saying that people should trust NASA and the European Space Agency. He also attacks disinformation on the web! All the while *still* stirring up the Internet, sounding like a doomer, and so on.

The run-of-the-mill conspiracy theorists sound more honest. 

For a brief moment I kind of hoped that maybe, just maybe there would be more to this than a billion year old green comet from Somewhere Else...but naaah. But sure, it still fits the 2025 World-Gone-Crazy Narrative, so there´s that I suppose.
