So the "Great Arcanum" - the biggest secret - of Western esotericism is sex magic? OK, whatever, I´m out of here...
Does this guy still have a job, I wonder? I didn´t watch to the end, but stuff like this can and have been misunderstood many times before in history.
The claim is that the border between the heavenly and the earthly realms is very thin during Halloween, which gives us a chance to communicate with the Metatron and other angelic intelligences "over the next 7 to 10 days". But since many people associate Halloween with demons rather than hallowed saints or angels, the entire ritual could be taken by some to be Satanic!
Note also that the US presidential elections are "within the next 7 to 10 days"...
This was painful to watch. This content-creator wants to both eat the cake and have it.
Lifting the Lamp explains the basics of Solomonic magic. I assumed stuff like this was supposed to be secret?
The system apparently includes both instructions to contact demons, ambivalent spirits and good angels. Hmmm...so how do we *know* that the angels are really the good guys?
Most funny detail: the containers used to trap the demons and force them to do the magician´s bidding! You can see one in the thumbnail above.
Not exactly my path, but still quite interesting...
A kind of sequel to the anti-Satanist videos from the YouTube channel Lifting the Lamp. Also discusses the relationship between Christianity and esotericism.
Or perhaps not, since it seems that Anton Szandor LaVey *did* live as he learned...but at the expense of his own membership! I haven´t seen the original interview with Zeena Schreck (it´s two hours long), but these comments from Australian esotericist and former OTO member Frater Eleftheria are interesting. And yes, Schreck is LaVey´s daughter!
Something of a disappointment, but maybe this content-creator is afraid of YouTube censorship.
The idea that capitalism, elitism and Social Darwinism are "Satanist" are hardly original. Also, Skull & Bones and Bohemian Grove - while vaguely sinister - are hardly *that* important in the bigger conspiratorial scheme of things.
Ahem, what about Epstein Island?
Here´s a hot take: what if the worst conspirators in the world *aren´t* into dark magick, Satanism and stuff like that. They just try to serve "Christ" and "Mammon" at the same time...
Can´t resist taking a screen-shot of this. "Dealing with haters". If you look like Damien, just show yourself! :D
Anonymous
Australian occultist on the YouTube channel "Lifting the Lamp"
responds to some bad reactions to another video upload of his, in which he
discussed demons. You would think the critical viewers considered Mr Lamp to be
too positive towards demons. You would be wrong.
They actually
accused him of being too negative?! Which just confirms what other Neo-Pagans
and occultists have said on other fora: demonolatry seem to be in fashion these
days. That being said, Mr Lamp isn´t entirely dismissive of his demon-friendly
critics. There is *some* truth even in demonolatry, the demons of “his” magical
system not always being 100% evil evilly beings á la Satan. However, even the “best”
demons – which can help you with material gain – are negative in the end, since
they keep you chained to the material world with all its desires, desires which
ultimately cannot be fulfilled (Mr Lamp admits that some people might find his
argument “Buddhist” or “Gnostic” here). Many other demons are simply deceitful
or indeed evil, and if you don´t trust people, why would you trust a demon?
Some of Lamp´s
critics regard demons as simply the old pagan gods, who have been literally
demonized by the Christian Church. Some also accuse him of being brainwashed by
Christianity (Lamp is a former Catholic). His answer to the former is that many
pagan gods weren´t particularly nice or ethical, so why have dealings with them?
Humanity should outgrow them. As for being programmed by Christianity, Lamp
points out that he was a member of the Crowleyan OTO for over a decade. Judging
by his other videos, he then took up “Enochian Magic” and Golden Dawn ditto,
which indeed have Christian undertones, but he doesn´t seem to regard this as
negative. Christ is a real being coming through when you do white magic.
Yet other
critics charged Lamp with being too “dualist”. In a sense, he admits that he is
indeed such. There are negative forces and beings who wish you harm in the
cosmos, while others want to elevate you to higher states. If that´s dualist,
so be it. Mr Lamp doesn´t rule out that angels or “devas” might develop
material attachments and fall, nor that demons might sometimes ascend (he mentions
a mage who could release such beings of their suffering). However, this doesn´t
really disprove dualism, since the entities involved chose between Light and Darkness.
The content-creator
also reveals that he carried out a demonic ritual himself in order to face down
the demons, called “the four princes of evil”, and says that he “may or may not”
do a video about it. Who knows, maybe that will make his critics go away…
I honestly don´t understand why people would like God to be "Nothingness" or "Nothing", not even metaphorically speaking. I mean, dude, wazza point?
And why *that* particular metaphor? Rather than, say, the metaphor of a mysterious person hiding in the endless night...
An interesting sneak peek into the world of demons from the anonymous magician whose YouTube channel is named "Lifting the Lamp". He has previous experience of the OTO and is currently practicing some form of Golden Dawn system.
He refuses to discuss the deeper nature of demons (let me guess: the Lemurian deviation?) but he does say enough to scare the hell out of you, if you happen to believe in the paranormal! The demons really are out to get us, and they have increasingly started to reveal themselves and influence the world at large. The bizarre polarization and fragmentation in the current body politic mimics the chaos of the demonic realm and might tell you who is pulling the strings...
There are two main ways in which a magician can work with demons. The "classical" approach is to command them in the name of God to follow the orders of the mage. Compare the legend of how king Solomon built the Temple with the aid of demons! The problem with this approach should be obvious: unless you are, well, Solomon presumably, the risk is that the demons will escape and start wreaking havoc in your house or your life (or the Temple)...
The other approach is just as bad, and includes rituals involving voluntary possession by the demon. Lifting the Lamp tells a terrifying story of such a possession.
Mr Lamp admits that working with demons *can* be effective in the sense that they do have a certain control over material things and therefore can be induced to give the magician money or worldly success, while angels usually don´t care about such things, their goal being to lift up the magician to higher elevations. The problem with the demons is that they are animalistic, threacherous and that there is always a serious price to pay. Also, the demons somehow use the power of the magician to lift *themselves* up from the demonic to the material, with detrimental effects for the latter.
More info is promised on the content-creator´s Odysee channel, but I haven´t seen anything there...yet.
Some descriptions of "Enochian" visions seen during a Golden Dawn-type scrying session. From an esoterick Australian YouTube channel.
Here we go again with some Enochian magic, brought to us by "Lifting the Lamp", an Australian esoteric channel on YouTube. The anonymous presenter seems to be an independent practitioner, but perhaps with strong sympathies for the Golden Dawn tradition. The second of the two clips is the most fascinating one.
Enochian magic is a 16th century system of ritual magic supposedly given to John Dee and Edward Kelley by angelic intelligences contacted through scrying. The presenter apparently carried out something called the Gebofal ritual, associated with this system, but with some additions. The whole thing took 49 days to complete, some of which were spent in the wilderness of Western Australia. The whole thing reminds me of an out-of-body experience during which various angels appeared to the magician and imparted important information, apparently about an upcoming apocalyptic situation. (Un)fortunately, most of the spiritual revelations are "sealed", to be made public only at a later time.
The anonymous magician has apparently been criticized by some Christians for simply talking to demons, but he believes otherwise, since the Gebofal ritual made him more sympathetic to Christ and more critical of the OTO, which he was affiliated with at the time. (I suppose a fundamentalist will simply say that the Christ he worships is a false one, et cetera.)
Very "niche" material, but still interesting.
Is an Ascended Master "some dude who is really good at spiritual stuff" or a virtual demigod who answers prayers and saves people á la Jesus?
The anonymous esotericist in this clip argues that the classical Masters of Theosophy were real flesh-and-blood people who had reached a higher level of spiritual development. The actual master is the divine spark within the physical body, not the person as such. And while "real" Ascended Masters might perhaps exist, an obsession with them is unhealthy since every human must save himself/herself by his/her own efforts.
Quite interesting, if you are just a bit critical of the proliferation of "masters" and other channeled entities typical of the New Age milieu, especially the Summit Lighthouse-inspired subsets. Many of these masters (one of them named Commander Ashtar) are surely entirely fictitious...
More Enochian magick, this time with an example of how it may look like. The first clip discusses what usually happens using a seánce of this sort: scrying, trance states, visions of angels which are all wings and all eyes...
From an independent Australian esoterick channel on YouTube.
A "moderate" form of apocalypticism, from the anonymous Australian who promotes his version of esotericism through the YouTube channel Lifting the Lamp.
Argues that the Age of Pisces is drawing to a close, and that a new golden age will emerge after we reach a nadir of sorts during the decades or centuries ahead. Yes, it´s the Age of Aquarius.
Like all prophecies of this sort, this one is also very hard to believe...except for the nadir part!
Some YouTube clips on "Enochian Magick", a magical system invented by British occultists John Dee and Edward Kelley during the 16th century. Today, a revised version is used by people inspired by the Golden Dawn tradition. The presenter admits that he doesn´t understand Enochian chess, the most convoluted and complex part of the system!
One thing I didn´t realize before is that the "angelic communications" to Dee and Kelley were strongly apocalyptic in nature. In other words: they were fake. Either that, or angels speak apocalyptically to apocalypticists. There are also obvious parallels to prophets claiming new revelations and introducing new scriptures. 300 years later, a certain Joseph Smith became a kind of latter day John Dee...
So why should I believe these "communications" in particular?
And yes, the Necronomicon was supposedly discovered by John Dee. But surely *everyone* agrees that´s fake, right...?
Two videos from the esoterick YouTube channel Lifting the Lamp. The Australian content-creator (who seems to be anonymous) shares the story of his spiritual journey.
Originally a Catholic, he had a near-paranormal revelation while walking in a forest, leading him to become a Thelemite and initiate of the OTO and the AA. Thelema is the religion created by the notorious Aleister Crowley. The OTO and the AA are the organizational expressions of Thelema.
However, Anon eventually realized that most Thelemites interpret Crowley´s dictum "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law" quite literally. (There is a more "philosophical" interpretation of the words.) Not only that, many of Crowley´s admirers don´t simply "do what they want" (as in hedonistic pleasure-seeking), but actively try to harm their fellow-humans in the process. Anon argues that all this goes back to Crowley himself and his bizarre "holy scripture" The Book of the Law.
This eventually led Anon to abandon the Crowleyan sphere and instead become a more eclectic spiritual seeker - judging by the other clips on the channel, probably Golden Dawn-inspired.
The first clip is more interesting than the second one, in my opinion, but since they hang together, I link to both.
Interesting comments on the claim that AI is a budding "superhuman intelligence" that could "rewrite the Bible". From the YouTube channel Lifting the Lamp, which seems to be Golden Dawn-inspired.
The claim about computers becoming our new gods is associated with the Israeli writer Yuval Noah Harari. While Harari seems to have *warned* against AI inspiring crazy cults, people have apparently interpreted his statements to mean that AI *should* produce a new religious scripture and install itself as a prophet or divinity!
Either way, Lifting the Lamp is a tad bit skeptical...
