Maniac Murder Cult

No more Mr Machiavelli?

What did I tell ya?

Most insane take so far on Trump´s Iran War of course comes from Michael Tracey, the contrarian extraordinaire.

>>>If you weren't aware, "unconditional surrender" is what Franklin D. Roosevelt demanded of the Axis Powers after the Casablanca Conference in 1943. This ultimately entailed extirpating the German state, dropping two atomic bombs on Japan, and occupying both countries in perpetuity.

Like we give a damn

Apparently, Nick Fuentes (the Groyper Führer) is going to vote Democrat in the midterms. To punish the Republicans and Trump. Or something. Oh. Amazing that guy still thinks he´s relevant...

Metaphorically

Not sure why Scott Carney (the first clip above) is so happy about Nick Fuentes calling on his supporters to boycott the midterms. Fuentes is a marginal character and hasn´t been MAGA (sensu stricto) for years. He tried to influence the 2024 presidential elections with a similar boycott call, and it didn´t work out (obviously). So a few Nazi wannabes won´t vote GOP in 2026 or 2028, who cares?

The second clip (from TYT) discusses the Steven Bannon situation. I find it amazing that Bannon *still* has some traction on the far right after all the revelations in the Epstein Files.

Maybe Fuentes the Groyper Führer has a certain point, after all. Time to burn it all down. Or at least walk away now and avoid the rush!

The Nazi hoax

No relation at all to the blog post

A polemical review of a book arguing that Paul was a scheming Jew who invented Christianity to undermine the Roman Empire by converting the Gentile masses to what was really a Jewish sect. Headed by a ditto "cabal", no less! The author of "The Jesus Hoax", David Skrbina, is an anti-Semite, a crypto-Nazi, and a admirer of the Unabomber. Or so the reviewer believes. He´s self-published, too.

I admit I didn´t know that the Nazis considered Paul to be the bad boy who turned Christianity "Jewish". After all, Paul is obviously de-Judaizing. His epistles even contain anti-Semitic content! (Although some scholars believe these are later interpolations.) Weirdly, Skrbina rejects not just Paul, but also the Gospels - which also contain content that could be spun as anti-Semitic.

What I don´t understand is whether Skrbina is a Jesus Mythicist or whether he believes that the Nazarene was an Aryan super-hero with flexing muscles whose real message of Lebensraum and Drang nach Osten (or is it Mesopotamia) was turned into its anti-Roman opposite by St Paul´s cabal. How deep is this rabbit hole?

Levels of irony

I´m not a big fanboy of Vaush, but he does make many good points in this clip about Nick Fuentes´ bizarre reactions to the Epstein revelations.

I´ve also been mystified by the "postmodern" tendencies of the Alt Right and their "high levels of irony" which the rest of us "don´t understand". It seems the political payment is finally due. The irony wasn´t a cover for un-ironic neo-Nazism. The irony doesn´t hide anything except mere grifting, nihilism and (perhaps) yet another layer of irony. It´s "irony" all the way down. Fuentes "ironically" supports Epstein. Obviously, a real Nazi would take the Epstein situation 100% seriously as evidence that the National Socialist worldview is true. I mean, a rich Jew with Israeli connections heading an international paedophile network from fucking Hymietown?!

I predicted years ago that the Alt Right would eventually collapse due to this kind and other kind of stuff, but I didn´t think the end would be this dramatic. I mean, Bannon seems to have been a friend of Epstein´s (and he is "classical" far right more than subculturally Alt Right) while the Groyper Standartenführer pretends to defend him. But sure, maybe we should grab some pop corn and enjoy the inevitable end of the comedy...

An uncomfortable truth

Russian military blogger hiding
against uncomfortable truths?

Russia´s "special-military operation" against Ukraine has now lasted longer than the Soviet Union´s Great Fatherland War against Nazi Germany. Let that sink in. Russia can still win, of course, since it´s a war of attrition. And Russia has a larger population and less fickle allies. However, it´s certainly interesting that Putin can´t defeat Ukraine in the same time it took Stalin to defeat Hitler! It should be an uncomfortable truth for the "military bloggers" and their dreams of a Russian blitzkrieg against NATO...

Forever young

When I was much younger, there was a popular German pop band named Alphaville. They were apparently named after some strange dystopian movie. I watched the film earlier today - for the first time ever. ”Alphaville” turns out to be a French science fiction flick from 1965, directed by Jean-Luc Godard and starring Eddie Constantine, an American actor whose character Lemmy Caution seems strangely misplaced. And yes, he speaks French! The entire production is slightly surrealistic and the plot isn´t always clear.

The film taks us to Alphaville, a futuristic city which has traits of both the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany and a Western techno-utopia. The streets are named after famous scientists, and the nominal leader is a certain Professor von Braun (or perhaps Vonbraun?). Guess who *he* is freely based on? All women seem to be prostitutes – think of how the KGB tried to snare Western visitors with honey traps. Alphaville is run by ALPHA-60, a super-intelligent computer which communicates with a peculiar guttural voice. Intentionally or otherwise, its monologues sound like typical French quasi-intellectual mumbo jumbo.

The similarities with George Orwell´s ”1984” are obvious, including a kind of Newspeak and the authoritarian idea of erasing both past and future, making everyone live in an Eternal Now. Naturally, feelings (including love) are banned. Since Caution uses ”Oceanic time” when making temporal references, the viewer is presumably supposed to spot the Orwellian influence. There is also a vampire theme, although not very pronounced. Vonbraun´s real name turns out to be Nosferatu!

Caution (posing as a reporter) is on a secret mission from the Outlands to retrieve a previous agent and kill Vonbraun. The exact location of the Outlands is never made clear. Is it another place on Earth? Or another galaxy entirely? Nor is it clear when the story is supposed to be set. At one point, it´s heavily implied that the Cold War is just a few decades in the past. Alphaville and the Outlands (including ”Tokyoville” and ”Nueva York”) are themselves embroiled in a cold war-style confrontation which threatens to turn hot at any moment.

The Alphavillians are remarkably inept and it´s difficult to believe that we´re really seeing a totalitarian dictatorship. There are a number of absurd situations, including a *very* bizarre execution scene. In fact, I don´t think I´ve ever seen an execution this strange in all of cinematic history! ALPHA-60 at first doesn´t consider Caution a threat and lets him freely roam the city. In another typical plot twist, Caution eventually destroys the computer by asking it a riddle it can´t answer (since the machine is strictly logical). And yes, underlying it all is an incredibly boring love story between the hard boiled Agent 003 and a certain Natacha von Braun (or is it Vonbraun?) who may or may not be the professor´s daughter.

To a modern viewer, this 1965 production comes across as very dragging, but I admit that it was interesting (after a fashion) to see this relic of a time which feels both very far away and yet strangely familiar (even with the surrealist accoutrements). Pardon my French, by the way! The techno-utopia turned dystopia still looks very current, including the intelligent machine (think AI). Even the inept authoritarianism feels so 2025. Most of the other stuff comes across as very dated. I mean, they even use phone boots! Still, could be of some interest if European noir is your thing.
