A rather scary Ecosophia thread on Faustian civilization, suicide (both individual and collective), COVID and really bad dreams. What if our "Faustian" civilization *wants* to destroy itself, if it can´t conquer the world? 

There is a disturbing logic in all this, to be honest. Maybe on the downward arch of a civilization, material factors become less important as driving forces, people instead getting increasingly more irrational and frankly *insane*? That would explain a lot of things...

Note, however, that it´s not just the elite groups and their hangers-on who are losing it. The alternative scene surely isn´t immune from that kind of stuff, either!

Even Vice admits that this could be a stunt, but what´s a sick joke today might turn out to be real tomorrow. Note that the Canadian "MAID" program (medically assisted suicide) will be expanded next year to cover people with mental illness!
