Light on excess deaths?

 

A less alarmist view on the excess death situation than that of John Campbell (which I linked to before). I don´t quite understand this man´s take on the vaccines, but his views on cancer and cardiovascular disease are pretty clear.

Part of the excess deaths after the COVID pandemic are due to cancer, since screening for various types of cancer went down during the pandemic, and has failed to go up afterwards. Less people are therefore diagnosed with cancer even if they actually have it, leading to more cancer deaths. Cardiovascular disease could be another factor leading to an increase in deaths, perhaps because COVID weakens people´s resistance to heart attacks and the like. Also, these deaths happen during the winter months, which is to be expected.

As for the vaccines, the argument seems to be that during the pandemic, excess deaths were substantially higher in US states with lower vaccination rates until the Omicron wave, when the curve evened out, excess deaths being about the same in low-vaccination states as in high-vaccination ones. If vaccines caused the post-pandemic excess deaths, the curve should start climbing steeply in vaccinated states, but this haven´t happened.

For years, US leftoids told us that private companies can do whatever they like (sic), since the First Amendment only protects you from the government.

Now, the US government is strongly implying that Spotify should censor Joe Rogan. 

So presumably all leftoids are rioting in the streets against this violation of Rogan´s First Amendment rights. 

Nah, of course they´re not. After all, Spotify is a private business, so nothing can stop them from voluntarily doing what the government tells them. Right?

I happen to agree that non-violent doesn´t necessarily mean "peaceful" as in really nice guys. KKK sometimes organized marches that were, technically speaking, non-violent. To take just one example. However, since the same Canadian leftists who pride themselves on being *so civilized* probably supported BLM-Antifa´s riots in the United States back in 2020, I can´t say I give much damn. 

In fact, the complaints against the Freedom Convoy are downright comical sometimes. Like when one anti-racist activist says: "But you know what we didn´t do? We didn´t disrupt an entire city...we didn´t call for the unseating of the government. We didn´t intimidate and threaten people who didn´t agree with us". But of course that´s precisely what you (or your BLM-Antifa allies in Murica) *did* do. And I´m pretty sure this guy is in favor of Internet censorship, too! 

Maybe fiery but peaceful protests are part and parcel of living in a Canadian federal capital, I don´t know.

The pro-censorship arguments have become so bizarre lately, that I decided to repost "A Message from Ivory Tower", first posted here in 2018 to troll so-called skeptics and debunkers. Soon, the liberals will start to sound like this for real!

I'm all for people questioning everything, but there are some things you just can't question. 

For instance, the round earth, heliocentrism, evolution, the non-existence of Bigfoot, Lee Harvey Oswald's guilt and Hillary Clinton. For instance, we know (on the authority of Psy-Ops, I mean, CSICOP) that 65% of those who question Hillary end up as card-carrying members of the Flat Earth Society within three years. 

I'm for having an open mind and all that, but there's a difference between my open mind and your closed mindedness. Therefore, questioning these things should be banned in the interest of the public good. That's not an attack on free speech or free inquiry. It's a defense of Western civilization itself, which we all know was based on free inquiry. 

And if you question *that*, you can't expect me not to take any action. Yeah, really.

In hiding from a fringe minority

Justin Trudeau has left his residence due to "security concerns" to an "undisclosed location in the nation´s capital". In other words, he hasn´t left Ottawa...yet! 

This is still a major crisis for the Canadian government, since it means that their prime minister is effectively in hiding, while the police in the federal capital can´t stop the protests Trudeau is hiding from. 

In Eastern Europe or the so-called Third World, this would be tantamount to a coup or a revolution. Canada may still be a stable Western democracy, but for how long? Justin´s father Pierre Trudeau once called a state of emergency to smash a small terrorist group, but the son just runs away from "the fringe minority" he says is behind the so-called Freedom Convoy... 

The next capitol stormed might very well be the Ottawan one.
