Time running out, me boy

That Congresswoman with the strange UFO-esque name (Luna?) claims that the next drop of UFO files will contain The Truth About Actual Aliens. Or interdimensional beings. Or something.

Yeah, sure hope so, because this is getting dragging and boring as fuck. If there isn´t anything in the next batch (or whatever they call it), I´m outta here, gonna find those pesky little green aliens me-self, that´s what I´m gonna do!

In fact, I think I have a *very good idea* where to start looking. On a mysterious meadow in the glens, where the fairies danceth in perpetual bliss...

I wonder if climate change affects the fairy folk? And what they will do about it? I mean, they can´t just leave, now can they? Their UFOs being merely mental-holographic projections and stuff.

Sorry for the rant, the heatwave is getting to me!

Summer is coming

A Super-El Nino is (probably) about to begin and last for about 8 months. So for the next 8 months, climate change denialists will blame all heat waves on the (naturally occuring) Super-El Nino. Climate activists won´t say anything, since they are too busy doing pro-Hamas activism.

Between 1876 and 1878, there was a Super-El Nino during which about 60 million people died of famine. But the world looked very different back in 1876-78. I mean, colonial empires oblivious to the plight of the colored man, deficient supply chains, no international aid organizations...

Wait a sec.

Well, yes, sounds a lot like 2026, doesn´t it? But I´m not saying the doom-sayers are right. Probably just another slight turbulence on our way down. Right?

Another kind of resignation

Everyone (sometimes secretely) hopes that everything will simply go back to Normality when the Republicans are defeated in the upcoming US midterm elections. Or at the very latest when Gavin Newsom becomes POTUS in 2028.

Maybe. But what if *nothing changes*? What if Trump´s "isolationist" or "multi-polar" orientation isn´t a temporary aberration, but an objective necessity? He is pursuing that course very erratically, to be sure, but what if the course itself is baked into the cake at this point?

After all, Biden´s administration had all kinds of conflicts even with America´s allies, including the UK and France. And when Russia attacked Ukraine, Biden urged caution. Or compare Biden´s debacle in Afghanistan (c/o Trump) with Trump´s debacle in the Persian Gulf. The Biden admin was confrontational with China, as had Trump Mark 1. They even promoted the Wuhan lab leak theory!

In the background, we have the national debt crisis in the United States. Or the BRICS anti-dollarization moves. And what if oil and gas prices won´t go back to normal?

What if the United States will prove incapable of shouldering the fiscal and military burdens of defending Europe against Russia or its East Asian allies against China? What if Democrats or Neo-Cons simply can´t restore the status quo before, say, 2016? Even if Russia is weakened by some kind of decisive setback in Ukraine, it´s still not obvious that this will strengthen the "rules-based liberal world order". Maybe it will simply strengthen China. I can see them (pro)claiming a Co-Prosperity Sphere in Siberia and the Russian Far East!

Add to this the enormous problems in building new nuclear power plants or sustaining the AI-related data centers. I would glady trade the latter for the former, but what if even that won´t work? And then there´s the creeping demographic crisis, problems surrounding migration, new pandemics, and so on.

Maybe the world around 2040 will look pretty much the same no matter which political factions takes over post-Trump: a Potemkin America, a Russian Time of Troubles, a French-dominated Euro-Canadian alliance, and a very shaky Beijing-centric "new world order". And underneath this, large masses of African migrants and refugees...and perhaps some crazy rich White men trying to "geo-engineer" the atmosphere.

In case you wonder why I´m not *that* optimistic about the next 15 years. But sure, I could be wrong. I mean, Paul Ehrlich couldn´t predict the cost of tungsten, right?

International Day for Biological Diversity

Also known as World Biodiversity Day. Is today, apparently. Here is a quote from something I posted in 2023: "The production ends with the usual moral preaching about taking care of Nature, blah blah, as if Nature couldn´t take care of itself just fine. We´re the real endangered species here. I´m pretty sure the carrion beetles will still be around in 1,000 years..."

THE GODDESS LOVES BEETLES

A propos the previous post, but you can hardly make out the beetles (nor the house crows) in this picture, hmmm...is the system biased or what? Maybe the AI god doesn´t like beetles.

IBD

22 May (tomorrow) is apparently the "International Day of Biological Diversity", when Green activists all over the world unite to "save" one particular phase of faunal and floral succession. LOL.

But sure, a world completely dominated by ugly humans and even uglier house crows (and whatever mono-disease they are carrying) would probably be immensely boring, so in that sense, I suppose I´m in.

God loves beetles!

Fear of a Blaq planet

A propos a previous blog post...

In 100 years, most people will be West Africans freezing half to death in Europe, barely braving heat waves in the Middle East, or drowning in huge floods in North America. Or fighting Kazakhs and Pakistanis somewhere in Asia. Africa will have become uninhabitable by that time.

Prove me wrong.

An inconvenient truth

The "nationalist" right won´t be able to stop immigration, just as the globo-liberals and the Greens won´t be able to stop climate change. In fact, none of them will even try. Not really. And none of them will be able to stop the demographic crisis, although they probably *will* try.

Prove me wrong.

A little bit of everything

A potpourri of YouTube videos about various different topics: mushrooms control the weather, Chinese "green technology" is fake, virtual particles are real, et cetera. Enjoy!

"So you have chosen death"

Wallenberg-sfären investerar flera miljarder i Stegra.

Worthless research?

Credit: fir0002

In 2300, an area the size of Pennsylvania in Antarctica will be ice free, prompting geopolitical conflicts over its resources. Think gold, silver, that kind of stuff.

But wait just a minute...

Did you say *2300*? Ahem, that´s in 200 years. Why was this even published?

Antarctica hides huge cashes of gold, silver, copper and iron

The irony of reality

Here we go again. "Green" politics that improve the living environment might actually *speed up* global warming?! The latest example is from China.

China´s huge push to reduce air pollution had an unexpected consequence in the Arctic

Reformism

She looked like such a nice girl.
