Killing Khamenei

 

Things are moving really fast now. Perhaps a bit too fast? Apparently, US senator Lindsey Graham recently warned the Iranian mullahs that Trump might kill Khamenei! While Graham supports Trump, he is really a "regular" Republican who lobbies hard for Ukraine and against Russia. And Iran is of course a Russian ally, but also an enemy of the Donroe Doctrine´s most favored nation of Israel (which we all know is firmly situated just to the north of Bermuda). Which may give Graham the room he needs to nudge the Great Leader in a somewhat more "pro-Western" direction.

Personally, I worry that the US administration is so dizzy with success over the Maduro capture that they will revert to the unhinged adventurism of George W Bush or even John Bolton (the irony!). And in contrast even to *those* guys, Trump threatens America´s allies just as much as its enemies with military force.

Are we seeing some kind of build up to the proverbial Sicilian Expedition? I suppose 2026 might get even more colorful than 2025...

Om detta stämmer är det i praktiken en amerikansk kapitulation för Ryssland. Helt obegripligt hur Trump kan tro att detta gör det enklare för honom att utmana Kina? I själva verket kommer raka motsatsen att inträffa: alla kommer att betrakta USA som försvagat. Sedan inträder geopolitiskt kaos. Eller en huggsexa. Det betyder också att ingen kommer att vara rädd för Trump längre. Jo, EU och USA:s europeiska NATO-allierade kanske. Men ingen annan. 

Och även om kriget skulle fortsätta ändå (Trump kanske ändrar sig?) så kommer alla ända att betrakta honom, och särskilt hans främste sykofant Vance, som komprometterade.

Senator Lindsey Graham was probably one of the people who "turned" Trump on Ukraine (back to the pro-Ukrainian fold), so it will be interesting to see if he is right about this. I assume he is well-informed?

The Hamas Nazis can end the conflict (and impending famine) at any time by simply surrendering and release the hostages, but are clearly unable or unwilling to do so. So rather than continuing the never-ending cycle of negotiations, withdrawals and renewed offensives, maybe its time for Israel to finally recapture the Gaza strip and behead Hamas once and for all. 

Note that Graham explicitly says that "the Arabs" should control the West Bank and Gaza. Which can mean whatever, but perhaps it opens a small window to a two-state solution, in which Fatah and allied forces control the Palestinian territories? That would also be in keeping with the Abraham accords. 

Of course, none of this shit would have happened if that great hero of the Palestinian resistance, Yasser Arafat, had accepted Bill Clinton´s offer of a two-state solution circa 30 years ago, but apparently you can´t say that, cuz "pro-Zionism" or something...

It seems the new strategy is the same as the old one. You know, support Ukraine and sanction the Russian Federation until Putin gets tired of it all. So I suppose the United States will no longer vote with North Korea in the UN General Assembly, then?
