“De Insula Nigra” is a Latin (sic) translation of one
of the more popular Tintin comics, “The Black Island”. I haven't seen it,
unfortunately. According to the fan site “Tintin around the world”, there is no
German-Latin edition. There is a Dutch-Latin edition, though, including an
8-page Dutch-Latin vocabulary. Be that as it may, it is pretty cool that “De
Tintini et Miluli Facinoribus” has been rendered into the language of Cicero,
Virgil and Carolus Linnaeus. Or the language of, ahem, Sulla, Caligula and the
Inquisition. Ave!
