My ironic comment on "Report on Manufactures", or perhaps on something else entirely...
I don't know who “Alexander Hamilton” might have been, but probably a lowly
clerk droning for some liberal-dominated Congress. Most of the contents of his
filed report (as in filed away) would make modern economists smile rather
wryly. I mean, come on, “internal improvements”, federal taxes,
protectionism…LOL, yeah, as if that would work. It's not a co-incidence that
his near-contemporary Adam Smith achieved everlasting fame and fortune, while
nobody today remember Mr Clerk “Hamilton”. Or should I call him
"comrade"? Everyone knows that AMERICA became a great nation through
free trade, especially in whiskey. I wouldn't be too surprised if our budding
socialist wanted to tax that, too!
