Nothing to write home about

A review of "Shetland Sheepdogs" by Jaime Sucher.

This little book was something of a disappointment. Most of the information is very general, and presumably applies to all small dogs. Or all dogs. Or all living organisms this side of the Andromeda Galaxy.

The little there is about actual Shetland Sheepdogs is badly edited and confusing. It also contradicts other information about this breed. Don't Shelties have "issues"? According to this booklet, they are just fine, especially with kids. Is this a pitch for the Sheltie Pup Association? Or the local Sheltie Shelter?

One of my neighbours had a Sheltie. It looked stupid, like a diminutive version of Lassie. But then, perhaps Shetland Sheepdogs aren't much to write home about anyway.
