First of May is the international day of the labour and socialist movements. It is also the date when Adam Weishaupt founded the Illuminati in 1776. Finally, it is the date of the Walpurgisnacht, an ancient pagan ritual named after a papist operative. It's often "confused" with the witches' Sabbath.
