Bewick´s Bible
I'm somewhat disappointed by this book. Two other Poyser monographs I ordered were less technical, and one was even fun to read (T.R. Birkhead's "The Magpies"). By contrast, Eileen Rees' 270-page book on the Bewick's Swan is very technical and obviously intended for the Advanced Ornithology Department. But sure, if you think the information on "Cygnus columbianus bewicki" found in the HBW is too terse, you will find this volume to your satisfaction. I give it fours stars, since I don't doubt that Eileen Rees really has written the Bewick's Bible. However, a more popularized book on these graceful creatures would have worked better with me.
