Quasi-canonical
“Tintin and the Lake of Sharks” is a slightly non-canonical Tintin comic album. It consists of still pictures from an animated Tintin cartoon, produced and directed by Raymond Leblanc. Tintin's original creator Hergé supervised the work, but most of the plot was developed by his co-worker Greg. It's a relatively straightforward Tintin adventure, with all the usual elements: constant action, slapstick, villains in search of secret technology, and the perennial conflict between “Syldavia” and “Borduria”. Both Rastapopolous, Bianca Castafiore and the shark-formed submarine from “Red Rackham's Treasure” make guest appearances. Unsurprisingly, the secret gadget everyone is looking for was originally developed by the distracted professor Calculus. Apparently, some people consider “Tintin and the Lake of Sharks” too fanciful. Compared to what, I wonder? The other Tintin stories?! Spoiler: there are no sharks in the story… ;-)
