Conchita sans Wurst versus the Kremlin Boys, Round Two

My review of the 2015 ESC album

The other reviewers must have bought a bootleg version of this CD. There's nothing wrong with the real & original version. All 40 songs are there, they have not been “cut short”, etc. My problem with this year's Eurovision Song Contest was that most of the entries were so incredibly bland and boring!

Sweden's Måns Zelmerlöw won the contest, but his entry “Heroes” only work as a live show, not on CD. The only song with real hit potential is the Australian entry – yes, the land down under was specially invited by the European Broadcasting Union to mark the 60th anniversary of the contest.

The conflict between Russia and The Rest Of The World was played down this year, with the EBU actually broadcasting false, pre-recorded cheers every time Russia got a high point – in reality, the audience was booing! Who knows, maybe the organizers do have a streak of Putin in them, after all? At least Public Menace To Russia Number One, Conchita (this year without her wurst) wasn't censored. On the contrary, she was everywhere!

But, as usual, you can't see any of this on a CD. I'm tempted to give “national torture hour” two stars, but to fend off the weird negative reviews somewhat, I'll give it three.
