This
episode of "MonsterQuest" isn't really about the Chupacabra sensu
stricto, the green two-legged monster first reported in Puerto Rico. While some
material on the "real" Chupacabra has been included, most of the
documentary deals with attacks on livestock in Texas by obvious canines. The
two cases are then conflated, making the whole thing somewhat confusing...
It seems as if the term "Chupacabra" is foisted on virtually everything mysterious killing chicken!
"MonsterQuest" reaches the conclusion that at least the attacks in Texas were carried out by dogs or wolf-coyote hybrids. Hardly surprising - in contrast to other monsters, there is physical evidence in these cases, including carcasses, skeletons, etc.
Since this episode of the series is somewhat less boring than usual, I give it four stars. But please don't tell me the producers have solved a genuine mystery. They have not, unless you believe in a special "Gringo Chupacabra" mimicking a poor, feral dog with mange...
