The name's Archibald le Hadoque

This is the classical Tintin adventure “The Crab with the Golden Claws”, in which the main hero meets Captain Haddock for the first time. This particular edition is Irish, Irish Gaelic to be exact. And no, you can't pronounce the title correctly either, so stop trying. Apparently, there is some discussion about the exact nationality of Haddock…

Some insist that he's Irish, either from the Republic or from Ulster. Others say he is Scottish. I mean, he's a sea captain named Archibald! But then, still others insist that he's Cornish. (Weirdly, this adventure *has* been translated to Kernewek, as well!)

Ahem, guys, according to the original Franco-Belgian version of “The Secret of the Unicorn”, Haddock's illustrious forebear was a Knight of Hadoque and was, surprise, French!
