Reality has forced me to take an overdose of red pills: peak oil, overpopulation, mass immigration, the Arab Spring turned chilly, my fellow liberals collaborating with Al-Qaeda clones in Syria, the impossibility of fusion power, the transformation of "the decent left" into indecent cheerleaders for Hillary Clinton and Remain, the impending collapse of modern science...
I'm almost tempted to agree with "Mr Reagan" in The Matrix: Why, oh, why, didn't I take the BLUE pill?
