My review of a plaque with the caption "God is Dead - Nietzsche. Nietzsche is Dead - God".
I
don't have this artwork, but I admit it's funny. I saw the quotation years ago,
but never understood where it comes from. According to urban legend, this is
some kind of graffiti from the walls of Paris circa 1968. Although the
Situationists were atheists, this might very well be one of their absurd
pranks!
Since it was Nietzsche who said "God is dead", naturally God's attack is directed at him. What a pity. I can think of even better candidates, I mean what about Heidegger?
There is also a kind of unattributed sister quotation which goes something like this: "God is dead, and I don't feel very well either"... Pseudo-Sartre? Pseudo-Camus?
