“Destination Truth” is an entertainment show with a
pro-paranormal slant. It features intrepid explorer Josh Gates and his crew, as
they “investigate” reports of ghosts, aliens and monsters from all over the
world. They also check out the local night life, culinary specialties and
run-down airports in whatever nation they visit at the moment. Sometimes funny,
occasionally interesting and often dragging…that pretty much wraps up this
concept.
In this season, Gates investigates Masada (which is said to be haunted – I wonder why?), dinosaur and alien reports from Chile, Turkish lake monsters, Romanian werewolves, Alaskan thunderbirds and Irish leprechauns (yes, leprechauns). They debunk quite a number of the reports, but the debunking is almost hidden in the end segment of the show, so true believers need not bother…
Not sure how to rate this erratic search for The Truth Which Is Out There and “Out There”, but three stars seem appropriate. And yes, one of the eye-witnesses who saw a leprechaun looks like I imagine a leprechaun to look like, LOL.
