You may stay hungry
I downloaded the free sample of this field guide to edible wild plants of North America. I'm not sure how useful it is, however.
The species presentations only contain basic information. There are virtually no details on how to actually go about preparing the plants! Thus, you learn that you can make bread from acorns, but not how. It's unclear how good the book is for identification purposes. It doesn't feel like a “real” field guide. Several reviewers claim that it contains inaccuracies, too. Nor are the seeds or other edible parts of the plant always illustrated…
Judging by the sample, "Field Guide to Edible Wild Plants" doesn't seem to be a book I would buy. Two stars.
