This
episode of "Destination Truth", first aired in 2008, blends humour, a
penchant for the absurd and something looking like cryptozoology finally
getting serious.
Josh Gates and his team descend (or ascend?) upon a small valley in the Himalayas, where they attempt a veritable home invasion of a Buddhist monastery keeping a yeti scalp as a secret relic. After being rebuffed (What did they expect? A cozy welcome by the Dalai Lama and his llama?), they have a frightening encounter in the middle of the night, and discover a couple of sensational footprints, duly validated by "Professor Bigfoot", Jeffrey Meldrum back in the States.
I admit I was both entertained, repelled and fascinated by this episode.
As for the pseudo-sceptics, well, according to Wiki, Meldrum later changed his mind about the sensational foot prints. Since the source given by Wiki is a book published in 2004, I wonder how its author could have known about something which happened in 2008? I didn't know sceptics had paranormal powers...
Be that as it may, we still lack *the* ultimate evidence for the Abominable Snowman: a big, white, furry body spouting "CSICOP sucks" in Neandertalese all over it. Or as Josh would no doubt put it, We're not there yeti.
