Resurfaced like a submarine

This book is part of an old series of children's books about "fantastic" boats, planes, balloons, weapons, cars, etc. Me and my best friend considered them mega-cool back in...1980? I still have my copies of "Book of Fantastic Boats" in Swedish. It resurfaced, U-boat like, during a major clean-up operation in my flat, LOL.

The book features ancient boats from Aotearoa (New Zealand if you're a White kiwi), Pharaonic Egypt and the Roman Empire. And, of course, a Viking ship!

A later section introduces us to modern ships: the Great Eastern, Enterprise, Bluebird, Crossbow... The Hoovercraft and a Mississippi river boat are also featured, plus some truly bizarre specimens, including the circular and near-flat Russian battleship Popoffka and a few early submarines.

Perfect, if you are around 12 years old, but could be of some interest even for adults who clean out their flats...
