"Atlas of the Prenatal Mouse Brain" was the book which triggered me to post this faux review on Amazon back in 2012.
This
is a bizarre book showing large, full-page photos of vivisected mouse brains in
various stages of development. Or decomposition? There is almost no text. The
brains belong to the C57 B1/6J, an inbred mouse strain from the Jackson
Laboratories. Tissues were dehydrated in an ascending series of ethanols and
toluene and embedded in Paraplast.
I hope this research will eventually solve the problem of diabetes, obesity or Midwestern rust belts. If not, some ethical committee might want to take a closer look at the Jackson Laboratories...
