Denmark's loyal Germans?

A review of an obscure flag on sale by Amazon.

This is an extremely obscure banner, so obscure that not even I (a recovering vexillology nerd) ever heard about it before. The Bund Deutscher Nordschleswiger is the cultural-political association of the German minority population in Denmark. The BDN's political arm is called Slesvigsk Parti or Schleswigsche Partei (try to pronounce that, LOL).

The border between Denmark and Germany has changed several times due to wars and plebiscites. The present border was drawn in 1920 when the German-controlled Duchy of Schleswig was partitioned between the two nations on an ethnic basis, most of North Schleswig being awarded to Denmark. While the population of Nordslesvig was indeed predominantly Danish, a small German minority found itself on the “wrong” side of the border, creating all kinds of mischief (such as supporting the Nazi occupation of Denmark during World War II).

I take it the BDN is a democratic organization these days…
