Charming snakes

"Giant Killer Snakes" is an episode of the U.S. TV series "MonsterQuest".

Part of the episode deals with a real problem: escaped pet pythons have established a breeding population in the Everglades, and some of the rogue snakes are making their way back to Suburbia... (Of course, it could be argued that anyone crazy enough to live in southern Florida has it coming!) A police officer and a herpetologist get their fair share of the action as they attempt to catch (and wrestle) with pythons. To charm a snake crawling its way into a residential area turns out to be easier said than done...

The other part of the documentary is more "paranormal", as the MonsterQuest team travels to southern Venezuela, hoping to find evidence for monstrous anacondas the size of a soccer field (sic). Needless to say, they don't succeed.

As usual, "MonsterQuest" is slow-paced, dragging and (unless you *really* like snakes) somewhat boring. However, if you are big tattooed biker with a huge python in your garage, I suppose you might find watching this worth the effort.

Three stars. Barely!
