The long-running British TV series "Doctor
Who" is supposed to be a cheesy cult classic, bordering (quite
deliberately) on turkeydom. Unfortunately, "Doctor Who - The Movie"
is neither cheesy, a budding cult classic, nor (admittedly) a turkey. It's a
relatively trivial adventure featuring evil aliens, time machines, the end of
the world and such stuff. Naturally, all is set on 31 december, 1999. Both The
Doctor and his evil protagonist (The Master) are relatively bland, The Doctor's
companions are also quite uninteresting, and there's no Dalek or Cyberman in
sight! But sure, all the other Who-related ingredients are there, such as the
TARDIS, so fans don't have to feel completely lost. You will be bored, though.
