A review of "How the Fox Got His Color. Bilingual English-Hungarian Edition"
My maternal grandfather was half-Hungarian, and
actually taught me how to pronounce Hungarian words, but never came around
actually teaching me the vocabulary. But then, he was half-something else, too,
what I won't disclose here. So, believe it or not, although my Hunnish
pronunciation may be a bit rusty, I can (more or less correctly) read aloud
wonderful sentences such as this: “Egy gyönyörü szivárvány tükörképe látszódott
a folyóban”, which apparently means “There in the river was a reflection of a
beautiful rainbow”. If Magyar aint your first language, don't worry, it’s a
bilingual children's book, so even you will get to know how the fox got its
sour grapes, eh, I mean red color. Vége!
