Under tiden, norr om polcirkeln...

Cheap flights from my location on SAS start at $435 with two stops, in 35 hours 20 minutes. I could stay in the Ice Hotel, visit the iron mine and check out the Northern Lights! Here we have coyotes, here in the city, which are similar to golden jackals. Heard one right out the front door, howling on the Metra train tracks.
Haven't seen a coywolf yet, but least three coyotes. One sautering down a busy arterial street in rush hour. We have plenty of "urban" rabbits munching the backyard grass too, which may explain the nearness of the coyote here on the northside at least. Known to prey on little dogs and maybe even loose or feral cats. Looks like an elongated scruffy german shepherd. The most recent was Saturday the 21st.
All hail the corpse devouring coyote! I wonder if some sports team has coyote as their mascot. There must be Native American myths regarding same also. Of course, wiki has the answer.
