  2. Smart move to quote John 17:22-23 as a proof text, although I don´t think it´s "historically true" that the author of the Gospel was "non-dual". Will probably link to the article. There is something called "impersonal panentheism", btw, so I suppose Zen would be it.

  3. What gets me is that once announcing "I participate in non dual reality" the speaker launches into a long verbal proclamation that, I suppose, is to trigger the "awakening" in the hearer. My friend's friend said "why not come into the moment and exist?" Anyway, Parabola is an interesting publication, I subscribed since the 1990's I think.

  4. Yes, I noticed that, too, but ironically enough it was the intellectualizing aspect that appealed to me.

  5. When i first heard about migrations of souls etc at 8 years old or so, initially i believed it with no questions asked. Then it made me nurture this weird idea about migrating to next life just out of bordedom.
To much homework in school and to little play etc was enough to make me think of running out on front of passing cars or whatever.
My mother, quite understandably, freaked out when i innocently brought up the subject.
But i believe there might be more suicides among atheists, even if a religious worldview in my childhood made suicide seem appealing.
