Porphyrion: Apocalypse or cradle?

Scientists have spotted a "black hole jet" that is 23 million light-years in length, erupting from a super-massive black hole God knows where. It´s been nicknamed Porphyrion, after a titan in Greek mythology.

A powerful argument for atheism and the pitiless indifference of the cosmos? Maybe. But interestingly enough, black hole jets may have been instrumental in spreading magnetism throughout the universe. And without magnetism, ultimately no life.

So perhaps a bizarre phenomenon like Porphyrion is really the cradle of our existence...

Fill in alternative scene speculations about pillars of light, axis mundi, plasma and the Shiva lingam here.

  1. Yes, nature is cruel. "One can split the atom into a million pieces and still find the evidence of cruelty," said my Friend's Friend. "so why not come into the moment and exist?" Trainers, real or mythological, come forth from time to time (jesus) and get slaughtered while attempting to expand human awareness. Is consciousness part of nature? The Daily Mail ( not exactly a reputable source!) has an article: Scientist says human consciousness comes from another dimension. Too much advert garbage on the site to warrant a link.
    Pretty bizarre.

    1. Or again, spewing "cosmic matter" as breathing in and breathing out on the scale of 140 Milky Ways. Who or what is drawing breath?

  2. I´ve found the Daily Mail article. Wow. Bizarre fact: the ads are customized, so I get ads for Swedish books...including one by a left-wing writer! When accessing Daily Mail on-line, LOL.

  3. Yes, Brahman. I got weird associations with the Shiva lingam being "the pillar of fire" or something to that effect.

    1. Yep, it can appear as a cosmic lingam, or multiple lingams. As
above, so below...wait until the yoni appears somewhere "out there."
