The files we love to hate

“Unexplained Files” is a surprisingly well-produced series featuring all the usual mysteries skeptics love to hate: UFOs, aliens, ghosts, Fatima, crypto-zoology…well, you get the picture. Although the show is really directed at the “true believer” segment of the public, it attempts to sound objective and may even come across as somewhat boring. Think “MonsterQuest”.

In an extended series like this, it's difficult not to find something of interest. Personally, I liked the episode featuring the Rendlesham Forest UFO case. The whole issue of ancient “giants” and “dwarfs” is also fascinating. Unfortunately, the “evidence” for Goliath's cousins seems to be a bunch of hoaxes…so far!

As another reviewer pointed out, series like this one should perhaps be seen for what they are: commercially driven entertainment. But yes, if you are new to the wild world of anomalous research, even “Unexplained Files” might contain tips for further study.
Three stars.
