The doomsday equation

A review of "Annihilation Earth"

An Arab terrorist with a Russian accent discovers “the doomsday equation” and is silly enough to use it. Complete boredom and plot holes follows, as the world (or at least southern France) slides towards a post-apocalyptic steady state (but without the zombies). And yes, one of the characters is starred by Marina Sirtis a.k.a. Councellor Troi from Star Trek TNG. She has somewhat worse bed side manners in this production, though. In the end, Sirtis has to decide whether or not to shut down the particle accelarators. If she makes the right choice, the world is saved. If not, a black hole will consume our entire planet, while the viewers safely evacuate to another channel... I *did* wait all the way to the bitter end of this ridiculous doomsday flick (worse than most low-budget productions from the 70's), but I can't say it was worth it. So I evacuated...to my own bedroom and fell fast asleep!
