“Pitch Black” is a quite good science fiction film and
apparently something of a cult classic. In the distant future, a space ship
with settlers and Muslim pilgrims (!) crash on a mysterious planet with three
suns and seemingly everlasting day. Among the marooned are an escaped convict
named Riddick and the bounty hunter who caught him.
The planet looks dead, with gigantic skeletons of dinosaur-like animals all across its desert landscape. When “everlasting” day turns into a very long night during an eclipse, old enemies will have to cooperate as the planet turns out to be teeming with life. Very hungry life…
Welcome to Hell.
This little excursion into the inferno of the Jinn was quite good, so I give it four stars.
