“The Witnessing of Angels” is
a confused documentary about the paranormal. It's about angels only in the
broadest sense. The anecdotes retold touch on reincarnation, pre-existence,
out-of-body experiences and visions of Hell or Jesus Christ. There are
different narrators, suggesting that the documentary might be strung together
from several older TV programs. The music in the background is also extremely
annoying and monotonous. More interestingly, “The Witnessing of Angels”
features both stories with a new agey feel, and others that are explicitly
Christian (bordering on the fundamentalist). Overall, however, I can't say that
this collection of undigested anecdotal evidence touched me, so I only give it
two stars.
