I admit that I don´t really care anymore. If the US wants to fall, let them fall, then!
Of course, the real point of this law is to provide more job opportunities for (White) "counsellors" to "remedy" the problems created by the law itself, while the POCs who de facto fail education standards can become activists for the Democratic Party (presumably low paid ones). Note that the Dems rather explicitly assume that colored people can´t learn how to read and write! In contrast to, say, the Great White Hope?
The Republicans who attack the bill are just angry that a bunch of low-information POCs will flood the colleges c/o affirmative action, which they want to keep as a lily White reservation for themselves...
Or maybe they really do want their maids and slave laborers to at least be able to write their names in Inglés, who knows.
