“Mystery of the Universe”
(previously known as “Man: Hieroglyph of the Universe”) is a collection of
lectures by Rudolf Steiner given in Dornach, Switzerland in 1920. Unfortunately,
this is vintage late Steiner: rambling, occasionally incoherent, sometimes
bizarre even by Steinerite standards. It's one of those lecture cycles where
Steiner attempts to cover pretty much everything under the sun (or is it Old
Saturn). The nominal theme is the connection between the microcosm and
macrocosm in man. I admit that I stopped reading it pretty quickly, and only
skimmed the material. Probably useful only to die-hard (or
dyed-in-the-biodynamic-wool) Anthroposophists...
