You can´t break the Mama

I know, it´s the wrong album...

LOL. This is fun stuff. I read this as a kid and recently found it in the basement. Benny Breakiron (apparently known as Steven Strong in some translations) is a Franco-Belgian comic hero created by Peyo, the same guy who gave us and the world the Smurfs (the blue midgets with terrible singing voices).

Benoit Brisefer (Benny's original name) is a small boy, perhaps only about six or seven years old, with a secret identity as a super-hero. He takes on the bad guys with the naïve righteousness of a boy scout, jumps over walls and fences, and lifts busses with his bare hands. As all super-heroes, Benny also has a secret weakness: he loses his powers when he catches a cold! Somehow, Benny's peers in elementary school and most of the adults constantly miss all the action, thinking the little boy's heroic exploits only exist in his fevered imagination.

I won't disclose the plot of “Madame Adolphine” here, expect that it revolves around Benoit meeting a mysterious lady in the local town park, a nice little old grandma who may not be what she seems... She's not wearing tennis shoes, either!

Five stars for the entertainment and the sheer nostalgia factor! ;-)
