Review of "Handbook of the Marine Fauna of the British Isles and north-west Europe"
This is a book based on the two-volume "The marine fauna of the
British Isles and north-west Europe", but not simply an abridgment. It
includes keys for identification, black-and-white plates and somewhat heavy
text in the species presentations. It's intended for specialists, rather than
the general public. The plates are somewhat unwieldy. Still, probably
indispensable for a scientist stuck somewhere in the North Sea. Four stars.
