"The
Curse of the Monkey Man" is an episode of "MonsterQuest". I
don't think it's available on DVD at the moment, but unofficial fans might
watch it on Youtube.
The episode follows a research team searching for the Mande Burung, a local version of Bigfoot said to live in the Garo Hills in Meghalaya, India. They also investigate reports of vicious attacks on people by a monkey-man right in the middle of New Delhi, India's federal capital!
This time, "MonsterQuest" turns up more empty-handed than usual. The scars of the monkey-man's victims don't match those left by an attacking monkey, and an official report blames mass hysteria. The monkey-man does indeed sound as a ghost, with an uncanny ability to disappear almost as fast as it appears. Meanwhile, DNA from a Mande Burung who harassed a local family at night turns out to be human.
Yet, ironically, "MonsterQuest" does manage to find a cryptid of sorts. Hair supposedly from the Mande Burung turns out to be those of the Red Panda, a creature not believed to live in the Garo Hills.
Well, always something. ;-)
"The Curse of the Monkey Man" is relatively interesting, and since documentaries about Indian cryptids are as rare as the Red Panda, I give it four stars.
