A message from the Spartacist League

A supposed statement by the Spartacist League, delivered to me through a strange channeling-like process by an entity simply known as "Max". Not sure what to make of it...

G. A. Southern is a viscous anti-Soviet gadfly and self-proclaimed "poet of Schachtmanism" who left our organization in 1982, to join the rapidly dwindling bands of the grossly misnamed Bolshevik Tendency, composed of ex-"comrades" who became qualitatively demoralized during Reagan's mad war drive and Drang Nach Osten, a.k.a. Cold War II.

Together with this sorry lot of "left" Social Democrats, Mr. Southern (whose very pseudonym just might tell us *something* about his political proclivities) supported the Afghan Mujahedeen, who skinned teachers alive for instructing little girls in how to read and write, Margaret Thatcher's favourite "union" Polish Solidarity, and the Contra-infested, CIA-funded, drug-peddling Miskito Indians of Nicaragua. Uniquely on the left, Mr. Southern also denounced our activists Jenny Green and John White when they tore down the Confederate flag of racist bigotry from the Brooklyn West town hall during a recent visit by Florida governor Jeb Bush.

It would be alien to us as a revolutionary Bolshevik-Leninist organization to denounce Herr Southern simply for writing erotic stories for Kindle devices. As Marxists, we defend all forms of free speech - including nudity, lewdness, drunkenness and Crowleyan witchcraft - from the bourgeois-imperialist state and its "feminist" hangers-on. We are probably not the only people to think, that one of the main gains of the American Revolution was the right of every citizen to choose his own poison.

That being said, however, we can't say we are very big fans of a man who uses the name of a revolutionary Trotskyist organization (and sullies the great names of Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht) to sell his sinister and shadowy oeuvres, while pimping for the forces of world imperialism and capitalism. Our erotic role model is and will forever remain the well-endowed Ms. Nina Hartley, who together with our organization and other anti-censorship activists, took a firm *political* stance in Florida in defiance of Jeb Bush et consortes, when these anti-Soviet "Cold" Warriors wanted to ban pictures of nude bean-stalks in the People's Park in Miami (see "Defend the People's Park in Miami" in Workers Vanguard, no. 543, and "Anti-Soviet hysteria over People's Park bean-stalks. Reactionary anti-sex feminists to the rescue" in Women & Revolution, no. 16).

Yeah, really. ;-)

Signed, Central Committee of the Spartacist League
