That the religion of the Israelites was originally a form of Canaanite polytheism is pretty old hat at this point, but this YouTube presentation did contain some facts I was unaware of. The names of Canaanite deities are frequently hidden away in Bible translations. For instance, how many people know that "dawn" in the term "son of dawn" is a reference to an actual pagan god associated with, well, the dawn?
It´s actually quite fascinating (and kind of disturbing) how much religion can change, and how much of current Christianity and Judaism is *completely* removed from the original Biblical religion. Almost as if Spirit moveth where it listeth.
Or people just making shit up as they go along...
