It would be bizarre (and yet fitting somehow) if the suspected attacker in the Trump assassination attempt turns out to be a radicalized right-wing Incel who had a mental breakdown and wanted to be killed. Fitting? Well, look around you.
Our entire society is insane, the opposition is frequently just as bad as the establishment, there is a mental health crisis both "left" and "right", so *of course* Trump and his supporters were attacked by somebody who "should" have been one of them...
Which doesn´t exclude a conspiracy, of course. Or even rank incompetence. Which may be even worse in the long run. Image being governed by a bunch of fools who can´t even hatch a conspiracy properly!

Yes I was going to comment on the World Socialist Web site article saying the same about the shooter. He was a classic "school shooter" profile, bullied and a loner. Butler PA is a very small town with an apparently ineffective police force. One thread is shooter went after Trump as he was not far enough to the right for his taste.

The World Socialist Web Site article was surprisingly sober...for them. Those guys can sound much, much worse. Fascism, economic collapse and thermonuclear conflagration are never far away in their worldview. As in "next week" far away.
ReplyDeleteI suspect Trump will win, but not with the landslide his supporters expected just after the shooting. In terms of votes, both 2016 and 2020 were close calls. Probably the same now.
