Panentheism and its neighbors

An adequate goddess?

Years ago, I actually called myself a panentheist, and sometimes still do so, but if the various God-concepts are defined as in the linked articles below, I would presumably be closer to theism?! Otherwise, I have ton say that the idea that puny human theologians can know anything important about Ultimate Reality sounds hubristic...

The difficulty of demarcating panentheism

  1. I'm about halfway through essay #2. I like the format Stenmark uses, building step by step.

  2. My "demarcation" of panentheism is a personal god who emanates a world, which is thus metaphysically somehow "identical" with God, while God is nevertheless much larger than this world. If the Neo-Platonist One is taken to be a personal god, then that would count as panentheism. In reality, of course, each religious system is fairly unique, and the attempts to demarcate them might just be a Christian-theological prejudice. The theologians "must" demarcate classical theism from everything else, for...ahem...theological reasons.
