What is it I´m missing? There are over 100,000 Russian troops close to the Ukrainian border in both Russia and Belarus. Even Russia admits that the troops are actually there. The US says that a Russian invasion is (or might be) imminent.
So why hasn´t Ukraine mobilized its entire military?
Note also that Biden explicitly says that the US and NATO *won´t* intervene militarily to defend Ukraine against a Russian invasion. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian president Zelensky claims that fears of a Russian invasion are overblown, and asks Biden not to spread panic.
On the one hand, it certainly resembles the build up to a bloody war. On the other hand, there is something eerie and surreal about the whole thing. Wag the dog? Or the dog that didn´t bark...
