The whole of the Law

Two videos from the esoterick YouTube channel Lifting the Lamp. The Australian content-creator (who seems to be anonymous) shares the story of his spiritual journey.

Originally a Catholic, he had a near-paranormal revelation while walking in a forest, leading him to become a Thelemite and initiate of the OTO and the AA. Thelema is the religion created by the notorious Aleister Crowley. The OTO and the AA are the organizational expressions of Thelema.

However, Anon eventually realized that most Thelemites interpret Crowley´s dictum "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law" quite literally. (There is a more "philosophical" interpretation of the words.) Not only that, many of Crowley´s admirers don´t simply "do what they want" (as in hedonistic pleasure-seeking), but actively try to harm their fellow-humans in the process. Anon argues that all this goes back to Crowley himself and his bizarre "holy scripture" The Book of the Law.

This eventually led Anon to abandon the Crowleyan sphere and instead become a more eclectic spiritual seeker - judging by the other clips on the channel, probably Golden Dawn-inspired.

The first clip is more interesting than the second one, in my opinion, but since they hang together, I link to both.
